Fabric

I LOVE to look at fabric, I remember (mostly) where I purchased that fabric. Why I bought that fabric, and now I am sharing with you.

Keep checking back for updates for items we have priced and made ready for the Big Sale! We are advertising on multiple sites and expecting big crowds.

Updates:

9/4/2024 - Had our Pre-Sale for my two Quilt Groups. What a great turn-out! Not to worry, lots of stuff left for you to check out.

QUARTER YARDS & HALF YARDS are $2 each. Buy any combination of 1/4 or 1/2 yards and get a free one (Bakers Dozen). Ladies took a bunch today, but still don't see a dent in the hundreds of fabric cuts.

Added over 50 NEW spools of Signature Maxi-Lock NEW thread at $2.25 per cone. Retail is $5.79.

Added several LARGE WOOL PRESSING MATS. Retail - outrageous amount. Two large mats offered at about 50 % off.

Anyone who makes an offer for a 'whole tub' or large quantity . . . talk to me.... Oh my....

Fabric by the Pound - Man, 2-4 pounds of large fabric scraps. High quality scraps like fat quarters with a 'bite' out of it, a YARD fabric with a 2.5" strip or two cut from it. Two pounds of pre-cuts 2.5" squares? 2 or 3 pounds of pre-cut 2" or 2.5" strips?

Vintage

(8/26/2024) - VINTAGE - Oh my, found THREE TUBs of Vintage quilt tops, parts and pieces (blocks). In Tulsa, I spent a lot of time visting the weekly Flea Market at the Fairgrounds. Great flea market. Bought lots of vintage tops, quilt blocks, notions, buttons and so on. Priced 12 LARGE quilt tops today, they are on big hangars, easy to see, everything $50 or less.

Several bags with vintage blocks, partially finished tops. If this is your thing, you don't want to miss.

Still to come. TWO GIANT STORAGE TUBS OF FEEDSACKS. For some reason, I saved all this stuff when my Grandma Scarlett died (1985). My mom washed everything before she gave to me.

This is the Mother-Lode of Feedsacks. I used to do quilt restoration, so regularly used this fabric for authentic repairs. NO, I am no longer do restorations.

(8/24/2024) - We FINALLY finished pricing all the fabric! We were doing a happy dance, then discovered even MORE fabric! Who knew I had so much? I have been truly blessed. Aarrggh.

Quarter Yard/Fat Quarters

At least a THOUSAND Quarter Yard cuts! Some may be quarter yards (9" x 42") OR (18" x22"). If a fabric was less than a full yard (maybe some strips cut off of a yard cut), then it is probably in the HALF YARD pile. There are a few measured at 3/4 YD, but I was 'informed' by my helpers that those were also going into the HALF YARD piles! OK...

One Yard Cuts

At least 500 one yard cuts, all priced at either $4 or $5 per yard. (Price based on WHEN they were priced), you ASK NICELY, we'll give it to you for $4 yard. If you purchase several one yard (or other size) with more than one price, I bet we will price all at the lower price.

Yardage

This fabric was probably on a bolt at one time. Anywhere from two to ten yard cuts. measured and priced at $5 yard. Bolts of fabric are ONE PRICE at $5 yard. If you don't need that much yardage, ask your friends to split with you.

UFO's & Swap Blocks

So, I might have mentioned that I have been quilting, taking classes and swapping fabric AND blocks for quite over 20 years. This started BEFORE the Internet. I was swapping fabric strips on Prodigy! You could stick a fat quarter, a block or several strips in a First Class envelope for 25 cents!!! Continued swapping 2" and 2.5" strips with many of the same ladies AFTER the Internet was created by Al Gore!

Swap Blocks

I participated in several different swap groups during almost 20 years in Houston. BlockBuilders at Great Houston Quilt Guild, No PITA's at West Houton Quilt Guild, plus many swaps with individual quilt bees and groups. I LOVE piecing, not so great on necessarily finishing things up. Still have many sets of scrappy blocks made by quilty friends, just ready to be finished into a wonderful quilt.

Fabric on Bolts

We will NOT be set up to cut fabric. So all fabric remaining on bolts is 'guestimated' by counting folds and priced at $5 yard. If you don't want the entire bolt, check with your friends to split fabric afterwards. These are all Quilt Shop Quality fabrics from Vendors such as Moda, Free Spirit, Marcus Brothers, Choice and other quality fabric distributors.

(8/23/2024) - Several bolts of fabric have already 'left the building'. Lots of Christmas, Tone on Tones, creams and a some novelty prints (Hogwarts...) left. We had one gal who purchased EVERY INCH OF MODA GRUNGE that was in the building. You will love the prices.

Strips, Blocks, Orphans and Scraps

We have sorted and stuffed giant ziplock bags with Christmas, Halloween, 30's Reproductions, 2.5" squares, 2.5" strips, orphan blocks, 2" strips, pieces that didn't meet the 1/4 yard requirement. They were packed into 2, 3, and 4 pound bags, priced at $5 a pound. Most sales usually figure one pound equals 4-5 yards of fabric.

(8/21/2024)- We have a PROFESSIONAL Estate Seller gal who used to do this for a living. She has admitted that she has never seen this much fabric at an estate sale!!!!!! She is an AWESOME organizer, and what we thought was going to take about three times the space that we ended up needing. (Thanks Tina .... you are AWESOME!).

Sorry guys, we have been so busy getting fabric sorted and priced, that I FORGOT to take any photos... Will try to get some soon.

Today, (Saturday 8/17) we packed up several hundred POUNDs of Fabric! What? So, we took my 'RED', HALLOWEEN', 'CHRISTMAS', and so on - fabric drawers, measured, priced and packed up everything from yardage into 2 yard, 1 yard and other size cuts. Then we went on to BLACKs, '30's Reproduction' (oh my, you won't believe how much of this there is), '1800's Repros' (just getting started on those). We bagged up about 50 pounds of 2.5", 2", 3" strips and squares. Many more bags of different types of scraps. (Oh, did I mention scrap quilts are my most favorite type of quilt?).

(Sunday 8/18/2024)measured and priced a lot more tubs of quarter yard, 1 yard, 2 yard and a bunch of over 5 yard pieces that I was saving for backings.

FABRIC BY THE POUND

OK, I have specially created over FIFTY 2 - 4 pound bags of fabric. This fabric is sorted by 30's Repro, RWB (Red White Blue) fabrics, Halloween Fabrics, Christmas, Pre-cut strips, pre-cut 2.5" squares. Fabrics and so on. We literally STUFFED 2 Gallon Ziplock bags with fabrics, and PRICED at $5 a pound!! Most folks price fabric by the pound at $9-$12 a pound
(Note that darker fabrics weigh a bit more than light colored fabrics.)

Knitting Notions

Priced THREE HUGE TUBS of quilting and most are knitting notions - knitting needles, interchangeable parts that are new in the packages. Most new items priced about 25% off of quilt shop prices, but items priced at $1 each.

Quilt Kits

Lots of quilt kits put together by the different fabric distributors. Most of these kits include all of the fabric for completing the top, and may/may not include backing fabric. These are alway great values as you just get the fabric you NEED, as opposed to purchasing excess estimated yardage. Kits provided from Free Spirit, Maywood Studios, Moda, Mayberry, and other well known distributors.

See below for some of the kits. Lots more coming.

(8/18/2024)- Adding 16 new Quilting Kits to the mix!

Swap Fabrics

Oh, my goodness. Fabric. WAAAYY back when, before the internet, there was Prodigy. It was a bulletin board style service and we SWAPPED fabric. Remember when it only cost about 30 cents to mail an envolope? We stuffed all sorts of fabric in those envelopes and sent them all around the United States. Huge bags of different sized strips that we swapped by mail.

Strips and Blocks

My quilting group in Houston loved doing scrap quilts. I would set out a 'tub' of 2.5" strips and squares whenever we met. People pulled what they wanted and threw back in what they had for leftovers. This went on for over 20 years. We have bags and bags of two and three pound bags of scrappy goodness. While we utilized these strips and blocks on a regular basis, these seemed to have grown like 'rabbits'. What a deal. we have 50 or more BAGS of different sized blocks and strips in 2 gallon ziplock bags. Priced at $5 a pound!!!

Swap Blocks

Over twenty-five years of swapping blocks with other quilters to get the wildest array of quilt fabrics. Many 'KITs' of completed blocks that have not been put together as completed quilt tops. You will love the variety of fabrics. There were about ten of us making blocks for each swap. That means there are a WIDE variety of fabrics in the blocks.

Quilt Kits

(8/21/2024) Guys, I was so numb from sorting and pricing things, that I forgot what price I was going to price these kits! Come and check them out, you are going to be amazed! Prices are lower than listed here.
